R-Rated Pixar
I like these r-rated classic movie scenes made into Pixar style art. I’d read these book if someone made them, but I won’t read them to my kids. Yet.
I think I have seen every one of the films depicted.

Let's make everyone above average
From Don Boudreaux’s news story, Minimum Grade:
WASHINGTON (CH) – In a bold effort to improve the educational fortunes of students who perform at academic levels significantly below the average of their peers, Congress has mandated a minimum grade to be assigned to each student in each course taught at any school in the country. Starting in September, it shall be unlawful for any teacher, professor, or instructor charged with assigning course grades to assign to any student a grade lower than C-.

Coffitivity
Like the coffee shop vibe but hate coffee? Need to focus, but it’s too quiet or the background noise is too distracting? Coffitivity promises an ideal level of ambient noise to focus on work and get things done.

How big is the moon?
U.S. overlaid on the Moon for a sense of scale:
How big is the Moon, really? Reddit user boredboarder8 provided some perspective with this image of the Moon with an overlaid United States. It’s roughly estimated (and others would be better at commenting on the accuracy better than me), but after some back-of-napkin math it seems about right. The area of the United States, not including Alaska, is a little over 20 percent of the Moon’s surface area. [via io9]
